The Republic of Uzbekistan has a highly developed metallurgical industry, which is based on the richest natural resources. Suffice it to say that Uzbekistan is on the fourth place in the world according to the explored reserves of gold and in the seventh place in its extraction, in the seventh place in terms of uranium reserves and on the eleventh or twelfth place in the world in copper reserves. The republic also has significant reserves of other metals, including precious metals and rare earths, such as silver, molybdenum, bismuth, tungsten, lithium and others. On the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a wide range of minerals has been identified, including about 100 types of mineral raw materials, of which 60 are already used in the national economy.

On the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a wide range of minerals has been identified, including about 100 types of mineral raw materials, of which 60 are already used in the national economy.

The current level of mineral exploration is associated with the development of the richest deposits of noble, non-ferrous and rare metals, all types of organic fuels - oil, natural gas and gas condensate, brown and semi-coking coal, oil shale, uranium, and many raw materials for building materials.

Non-ferrous metallurgy, concentrated mainly in the Angren-Almalyk mining region. This industry includes the production of copper, refractory and heat-resistant metals, and gold. Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine is the largest enterprise in this sector. On the basis of tungsten ores and molybdenum discovered in the republic, the Uzbek Combine of refractory and heat-resistant metals (the city of Chirchik) operates.

The existing reserves of mineral raw materials, in their majority, not only ensure the existing mining complexes for a long-term perspective, but also allow to increase the capacity and again organize the extraction of a number of important minerals - gold, platinum, silver, uranium, copper, lead, molybdenum, tungsten, lithium, phosphorites , potassium salts, fluorspar, wollastonite, agrochemical ores, etc.
